В данной работе исследуются простые системы массового обслуживания с конечным числом заявок. Заявки поступают в систему в соответствии со схемой холодных резервов. Предполагается, что полный отказ происходит, как только последняя заявка покинет источник. Для данных систем вычисляются зависящие от времени вероятности состояний, а также функция надежности. Показана слабая чувствительности этой функции к изменению формы распределений времени между поступлениями и обслуживанием заявок. The present paper deals with some simple finite population queueing systems which are used to describe the cold redundancy systems. The systems are assumed to be in a complete failure state as soon as all of the units are failed. For such models the time dependent state probabilities and reliability function are analyzed. It is shown that the reliability function have a weak sensitivity to the shape of the life and repair time distributions and this sensitivity vanishes upon the probability of the complete failure state decreases.

A stationary two-component markovian process (Xn; Sn)n>1 is considered with the first component observable and the second one non-observable. The problem of filtering a stochastic signal (Sn)n>1 from the mixture with a noise by observations Xn 1 = X1; ¢ ¢ ¢ ;Xn is solved in non-parametric uncertainty regarding the distribution of the desired signal. This means that the probabilistic parametric model of the useful signal (Sn) is assumed to be completely unknown. Under these assumptions, in general, it is impossible to build an optimal Bayesian estimator. However, for a more restricted class of observation models, in which the conditional density f(xnjsn; xn¡1 1 ) belongs to conditionally- exponential family of distribution densities, the Bayesian estimator is a solution of some nonrecurrent equation which depends only on probabilistic characteristics of the observable process (Xn). These unknown characteristics can be restored from observations Xn 1 by using stable non-parametric estimation procedures adapted to dependent data. In detail the nonlinear multiplicative observation model with non-Gaussian noise is considered, and the non-parametric estimator of an unknown gain coefficient is constructed. The results of the model experiment show that the quality of the non-parametric estimator, built for nonlinear observation model, is slightly worse than the quality of the Bayesian estimator (which is naturall), but better than the quality of optimal linear estimator. When building a stable nonparametric procedures the choice of smoothing and regularization parameters plays the crucial role. We propose the optimal choice of these parameters, which leads to an automatic algorithm of non-parametric filtering.

A controllable repairman model consists of L machines subject to failures and two repair servers working at different speeds. The problem of optimal allocation of failed machines between the servers is examined. The optimal control policy is calculated versus cost structures. As a result the optimal policy can be of threshold type, hysteretic type or have more complicated form. It is shown that the corresponding Markov process for hysteretic control policy belongs to the class of the Quasi-Birth-and-Death processes (QBD) with three diagonal block infinitesimal matrix. The stationary characteristics in this case are derived in matrix analytic form. Some numerical results are used to illustrate a number of features of the controlled model under study. Рассматривается система с L параллельно работающими ненадежными устройствами, отказ которых происходит независимо друг от друга. Систему можно интерпретировать как систему надежности с горячими резервами. Отказавшие устройства формируют входящий поток заявок в систему массового обслуживания с неоднородными приборами, на которых производится восстановление отказавших уствройств. Рассматривается задача распределения устройств по ремонтным приборам. Вычисляются оптимальные стратегии управления для различных структур штрафов. В результате получаются пороговые и гистерезисные стратегии, а также стратегии, имеющие более сложную структуру. Показано, что для фиксированных пороговых и гистерезисных стратегий управления соответствующий марковский процесс принадлежит классу обобщенных процессов гибели и размножения с трехдиагональными ифинитезимальными матрицами. Получены стационарные характеристики и представлен обширный набор численных примеров.

In many applications it is important to evaluate the impact of clusters of observations caused by the dependence and heaviness of tails in time series. We consider a stationary sequence of random variables $\{R_n\}_{n\ge 1}$ with marginal cumulative distribution function $F(x)$ and the extremal index $\theta\in[0,1]$. The clusters contain consecutive exceedances of the time series over a threshold $u$ separated by return intervals with consecutive non-exceedances. \\ We derive geometric forms of asymptotically equal distributions of the normalized cluster and inter-cluster sizes that depend on $\theta$. The inter-cluster size determines the number $T_1(u)$ of inter-arrival times between observations of the process $R_t$ arising between two consecutive clusters. The cluster size is equal to the number $T_2(u)$ of inter-arrival times within clusters. The inferences are valid when $u$ is taken as a sufficiently high quantile of the process $\{R_n\}$. The derived geometric models allow us to obtain the asymptotically equal means of $T_1(u)$ and $T_2(u)$ and other indices of clusters.

We study the action of semisimple Lie group G on homgeneous bundle over flag manifold G/H. We find field of differential invariants of this action on the module of holomorphic sections and obtain the criterion of G-equivalence of two non-degenerated sections.

The paper analyses formal relations (“friendship”) among the Facebook users and studies their interrelation with informal relations (“commenting”). We define general characteristics of the network, give a definition to strong friendship links. Then we analyze strength of Facebook friendship links, study connectivity between a user’s friends, and give an answer to the question how users who have something in common are connected with each other. In conclusion, we consider interrelation between friendship and commenting links.

This book focuses on organization and mechanisms of expert decision-making support using modern information and communication technologies, as well as information analysis and collective intelligence technologies (electronic expertise or simply e-expertise). Chapter 1 (E-Expertise) discusses the role of e-expertise in decision-making processes. The procedures of e-expertise are classified, their benefits and shortcomings are identified, and the efficiency conditions are considered. Chapter 2 (Expert Technologies and Principles) provides a comprehensive overview of modern expert technologies. A special emphasis is placed on the specifics of e-expertise. Moreover, the authors study the feasibility and reasonability of employing well-known methods and approaches in e-expertise. Chapter 3 (E-Expertise: Organization and Technologies) describes some examples of up-to-date technologies to perform e-expertise. Chapter 4 (Trust Networks and Competence Networks) deals with the problems of expert finding and grouping by information and communication technologies. The level scheme knowledge process, generation and structuring knowledge are presented. Cognitive techniques to form the base of knowledge are offered. An approach to order cognitive instruments of knowledge process is presented. The Scientific knowledge is conventionally represented in the form of a social base of knowledge. The most common instrument to study this base is to filter new knowledge in terms in scientific one. Now individual techniques of knowledge acquiring become the issue of the day. It is of particular interest to study cognitive techniques. A new way to investigate the individual knowledge process involves techniques of knowledge generation: in particular, now to stimulate the process of knowledge and to make it more efficient.
