Identification models find out a wide application in modern control systems, decision support systems, play a fundamental role in any activity concerned with the signal processing process. Methods based on the wavelet analysis are characterized with a unique possibility to select «frequency-domain windows». The paper presents methods of identification of non-linear systems, developed by the authors, by using the multi-scale transformation.

In this paper, the single-track railway scheduling problem with two stations and several segments of the track is considered. Two subsets of trains are given, where trains from the first subset go from the first station to the second station, and trains from the second subset go in the opposite direction. The speed of trains over each segment is the same. A polynomial time reduction from the problem under consideration to a special case of the single-machine equal-processing-time scheduling problem with setup times is presented. Different polynomial time algorithms are developed for special cases with divers objective functions under various constraints. Moreover, several theoretical results which can be ranked in a series of similar investigations of NP-hardness of equal-processing-time single-machine scheduling problems without precedence relations are obtained.

In this paper we analyze the Cauchy problem for the Einstein equation in the case of a non-characteristic initial hypersurface. To find the correct notions for the characteristic and Cauchy data we introduce a complex, which we call the Einstein complex. Then the Cauchy problem acquires correctness in terms of the associated spectral sequence. We define the Cauchy data in such way that they allow us to reconstruct a cohomologously unique formal solution.

The natural frequencies and distributions of displacement components for the surface vibrational modes in thin isotropic elastic disks are calculated. In particular, the research is focused on even solutions for low-lying resonant vibrations with large angular wave numbers. Several families of modes are found which are interpreted as modified surface modes of an infinitely long cylinder and Lamb modes of a plate. The results of calculation are compared with the results of the experimental measurements of vibrational modes generated by means of resonant excitation in duraluminum disk with radius of 90 mm and thickness of 16 mm in the frequency range of 130–200 kHz. An excellent agreement between the calculated and measured frequencies is found. Measurements of the structure of the resonant peaks show splitting of some modes. About a half of the measured modes has splitting at the level of the order of 10^(-5). The Q-factors of all modes measured in vacuum lie in the interval (2.. .3) x 10^5. This value is typical for duraluminum mechanical resonators in the ultrasonic frequency range.

Several conditions are proposed to check different robustness properties (ISS, iISS, IOSS and OSS) for generic nonlinear systems applying the weighted homogeneity concept (global or local). The advantages of this result are that, under some mild conditions, the system robustness can be established as a function of the degree of homogeneity.

Video streaming is a popular application on next generation networks (NGNs). However, video streaming over NGNs has many challenges due to the high bit error rates of these networks. Forward error correction (FEC) is often applied to improve the quality of video streaming. However, continuous lost packets decrease the recovery performance of FEC protection in NGNs. To disperse continuous lost packets to different FEC blocks, we propose a concurrent multipath transmission that combines FEC with path interleaving. Our proposed control scheme adaptively adjusts the FEC block length and concurrently sends data interleaved over multiple paths. Experimental results with our approach show improved packet loss and signal to noise ratio performance.
