The cases of hematologic malignancies (HM) are growing in number all over the world, while the mortality rate is decreasing very slowly, which causes significant economic losses in the society due to blood system tumors; it also proves relevance of research of morbidity and mortality from these diseases both in the Russian Federation as a whole and in certain regions. The goal of the research was to analyze dynamics of indicators of primary morbidity and mortality from hematologic malignancies among the citizens of St. Petersburg in 1990-2017. Research materials: federal statistical accounting forms and official statistics. It was found out that in 2017 St. Petersburg had the 2nd place among the territories of the Russian Federation in terms of primary morbidity and mortality from hematologic malignancies. Morbidity and mortality rates of men exceeded those of women. The highest morbidity rates were found in the age group of 70-79 years old. The same group also had the highest mortality rates. Over the research period, the incidence rate increased by 78.2%. Maximum increase in the incidence rate was registered for the active working age. The mortality rates decreased by 43,4%. Results of the research show that the need for onco-hematological care will be growing, in case the tendencies of mobility and mortality remain. It proves that this type of medical care must be made more available to people, be actively developed and improved. Also a comprehensive disease prevention program must be developed.
