We investigate the traffic characteristics arising from the IPTV streamingservice SopCast realized by means of a peer-to-peer overlay network. We perform acareful measurement study in a typical home environment and analyze the gathered tracesto determine the structure of the P2PTV application, the employed protocol stack and itsrelated message ows. Our data analysis illustrates the features of the dissemination approach,partly validates former endings and provides new teletraffic models of the appliedtransport service.
