The paper examines the problem of assessing the correctness of data from metering devices in technological systems. To solve this problem, it is proposed to identify a device by its digital fingerprint, based on its signal's dynamic model. The procedure for creating a digital fingerprint and the approach to comparing the reference digital fingerprint with the current one to detect the fact of substitution of the device or its signal are presented. The basic requirements for the input data used to create a digital fingerprint have been formulated. The criteria for selecting dynamic signal models suitable for use in the metering device recognition procedure are formulated. The application of the proposed procedure is considered using industrial temperature and humidity sensors as an example.
