The problems of spatial development optimization of production and transport systems (PTS) are considered. They include production elements (enterprises), transport infrastructure connecting production elements with consumption nodes (markets). It is assumed that for the initial period the production capacities of enterprises, the dynamics of demand for products in consumption nodes and the capacity of the transport infrastructure are specified. In addition, possible investment options for the development of production and transport elements of the system are specified. In this case, the problem is reduced to choosing an investment program option aimed at developing production and transport elements of the system that ensures satisfaction of demand with minimal costs. An optimization problem with continuous and integer variables is formulated. Examples of using this approach to solve several practical problems are given.
