The study considers the problem of user authentication in personal emergency rescue (PER) systems. A block diagram of PER system is given. The requirements for improving the efficiency of the systems are specified. The characteristic features of informing the users by the infocommunication equipment in the event of an emergency are determined, sufficient conditions for subsystems’ information security are formed. In order to increase the level of PER system information security, the authors propose a new authentication method based on the user’s digital fingerprint made of the infocommunication equipment hardware characteristics. The steps of the developed method are described in detail and the input and output data necessary for the operation of the method are given.
