The modern development of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) opens up great opportunities for their application in various fields of industry and national economy. This article explores the joint use of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology and UAVs, namely, the reading of passive RFID tags from a reader attached to an UAV is considered. For this, a model of a communication channel between RFID reader and tag was developed, and numerical experiments were carried out using discrete-event simulation. An estimate of the probability of successful data exchange between the reader and tags was calculated for different input data: RFID protocol parameters, environmental conditions, UAV flight mode, etc. It is shown that with certain settings of the RFID reader, it is possible to receive data from the tag with a probability greater than 0.95 at flight speeds up to 30 km/h.
