The development and further validation of industrial control systems (ICS) for big enterprises, in general, is a complicated and time and resource-consuming process. The article discusses how the digital twin of a cyber-physical industrial system can be used to evaluate the time characteristics of the real ICS system. The Network Calculus is used to derive the performance boundaries on the virtual environment used in the digital twin. The typical scenarios for the assessment of the characteristics of the CPS using the digital twin are considered.
