The methodology and results of the expert analysis of social and economic development of the resource extracting region are considered. The method of the analysis is based on processing of expert estimates in mark system. Management of the region’s economy of a subsoil development is represented by two components: management at the level of holding and at the level of administration of the region. Need of coordination of these levels is shown. The model of development of branch structure of the region, providing maintenance of its economic potential in the long-term period is considered. As an example of the analysis data of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area is used.
