The management of the Russian economy is unsatisfactory. The state planning institutes of management were destroyed, and the new ones (created in a big hurry) are not effective. Until now, the general principles and the ultimate goal of management have not been formulated by law in Russia. An approach to the creation of strategic planning tools in the economy based on medium- and long-term forecasting of the main economic indicators is proposed.
