The slowdown of the economy and even the continuation of the economic downturn in many countries is enhanced by a number of reasons. The deep and durable recession is typical for the undermonetized economies. Monetary deficit, especially as a consequence of high cost of money, makes it impossible to allocate resources for the real sector arising. The results of the study are: identifying the non-linear relationships of money supply with GDP volume in different countries; determining some reasons for the lack of monetary volume; conclusions for monetary policy aimed at overcoming the crisis and transition to sustainable economic growth.
